Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie

A week of celebration across the country

The Canadian Foundation for Cross-Cultural Dialogue, which works to promote and sustain dialogue and gather all the various Canadian society elements, sponsors The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie.

The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie (RVF) are part of the events organized each year around International Francophonie Day ( March, 20th) in order to celebrate the French language and Francophone culture in all around the world.

Today, in Canada, no less than 9,5 million of persons, mainly from Acadia, Quebec, Ontario and also from Northern and Western Canada, make the French language live and shine around them. They are either pureblood Francophone or Francophone from diverse immigrant backgrounds nor English-speakers who decide to learn and live in French.

GOAL:   DEPLOY A RECORD NUMBER OF ACTIVITIES IN BRITISH COLUMBIA!

The Federation as the main Provincial spokesperson organization ensures the provincial and federal coordination of the RVF. Since many years now, The Federation has worked on liaising with the national office, on providing activities and on promoting events.

At the heart of the Rendez-vous de la francophonie, Francophone and Francophile put activities in place such as contests, film screenings, shows, official ceremonies, meetings in libraries and cultural centers, etc.

In 2018, more than 70 activities were organized.

The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie is the best opportunity for British Columbia to push Francophonie actors forward, to underline the dedication to the language, the culture and the heritage and above all, to share a great moment all together.
